Wow!
USA vs. Sweden for gold, Switserland vs. Canada for bronze … I think we all expected another outcome here.
So, who’s playing who in the women’s final? It’s gonna be Europe vs. Asia for bronze and gold. … See MoreSee Less
Monday Night League Part 2 didn’t start as planned. First game is postponed and our second game lost.
Last monday we played the guys from Team Talent. Because Ester and Marianne couldn’t play we asked Kimberly and Shirley to step in. With Bonnie as skip and Linda as vice-skip the front-end became the back-end. Revolution!
Well … with a 3-5 loss we’ll have to work on our back-end strategy, but it was very educational to look at the game from the other side of the sheet.
Next stop: Team Geonius, 12th of februari, 20h00. … See MoreSee Less

Evert ten Napel dacht vroeger dat curlen iets was met bejaarde huisvrouwen die met fluitketels aan het gooien waren. "Maar het is een echte sport en bloedstollend spannend!"

✝️Last Wednesday we were hit by the news that Reg Wiebe had passed away. He was one of the great characters of Dutch curling definitely, but safe to say international curling as well. He had an endless love for the game and with that an unflinching support for our team. We are deeply saddened and he will be sorely missed for his humor, his honesty, directness and the overall wonderful and authentic person he was. He leaves behind a big hole, but he has enriched the lives of many people and the memories of him will continue to do so. Our thoughts are with his family and we wish them all the strength to deal with this loss. … See MoreSee Less
Yesterday we were challenged by our friends of Curling Club Rotterdam to play some curling on their curlingrink in Rotterdam.
The conditions of the ice were a bit different than we are used to. Without pebble and a lot of water on the (shorter) sheet, we gave it our best shot … but we didn’t manage to get any stones into the house. We had to adjust our sliding, or just skip it and throw like crazy. Ester got the first stone in the house and many followed. Lying two, hitman JanBart approached the hack and with an outragious sliding he threw a dubble runback take-out. Unfortunately missed by the camera of Rijnmond Television.
After interviews, aftermath and gluhwein the men invited us for a very tasty walking diner.
Thanks again for your support guys and we’ll meet again on pebbled ice, without water, with serious sweeping, gracious slidings in Zoetermeer!
